Hale Moss Memorial

 2017 Wilson County Fair

Dedicated in Memory of Hale Moss

1948 – 2017

Hale loved life.  He was passionate about his work and the Wilson County Fair.  In 1973, Hale and a group of interested people were instrumental in moving the Fair to what is now the James E. Ward Agricultural Center better known as the Wilson County Fairgrounds so children would have a place to show their livestock.  Wilson County Promotions was formed in 1979.  Hale served as President for 38 years.  Hale was always quick to point out that the success of the Wilson County Fair is due to the passion and commitment of the volunteers.  Hale always gave his support and considered himself the volunteers biggest cheerleader.

Hale would remind us that the Wilson County Fair has long been a “mirror” of our county and its communities and through the visions of the past, the pathways to the future of this Fair will be wide and well-traveled.  Those before us and those that will come after us follow the motto, “Do Something Worth Remembering.  Enjoy the memories!”

We appreciate Hale’s dedication, leadership and passion.  He is missed.  We will never be able to fill his shoes, but we can walk in his footsteps.  Let us remember and let us continue the work to accomplish the mission that Hale was a part of starting years ago.
