LEBANON, TN — Wilson County Promotions announced today that the legislature has approved the Tennessee State Fair to join with the Wilson County Fair (subject to final signatures from the Governor and State). The fair will be named Wilson County Fair-Tennessee State Fair. The fair dates will be August 12-21 at the James E. Ward Agriculture Center with the fair now operating for ten days. The 2021 theme will be “Honoring Hometown Heroes.”
Wilson County Promotions Board President Randall Clemons stated, “We are honored the State of Tennessee has chosen us to be the new home of Tennessee’s State Fair. Wilson County Fair was chosen due to the location, facilities, being an award-winning fair and our great volunteers. Our Fair’s roots and existence remain as an agriculture fair, and we continue to strive to be a great place for families to have fun and make memories that will last a lifetime. Wilson County Promotions already has experience operating a large-scale Fair having produced the Wilson County Fair for 42 years and being ranked #31 among the Top 50 Fairs. Tennessee is making significant investments that will enable the Fair to showcase the great state of Tennessee where every county can exhibit their best in agriculture and tourism.”
As a result of being the home of the Tennessee State Fair, we will be able to make capital improvements to the facilities that would not have been able to afford otherwise. We will have a better chance to make improvements to road and traffic infrastructure and challenges. It also gives us the opportunity to make an even larger impact for the State of Tennessee. This provides an enhanced opportunity to have a State Fair which showcases Tennessee’s agriculture, commerce and culture while showcasing every county in the state.
The largest Fair in Tennessee will provide 10 days of family fun, food, thrilling rides, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, pageants, daily livestock shows, Fiddlers Grove Historical Village, entertainment on 8 stages, agriculture education opportunities all over the fairgrounds and more. The Fair will open on Thursday, August 12, at 5 p.m. and run through Saturday, August 21. Wilson County will continue to showcase adult and youth exhibits. There will be many State competitions during the 2021 Fair. Exhibits that have been Wilson County only will continue, and all events that were previously open to everyone will become State Fair events. Details regarding events and activities will be included in our Fair catalog.
Your Mid-South Ford Dealers will be our title sponsor and present the 2021 Fair once again.
Over 150 events will occur, and volunteers plan for this Fair to be the best one yet. We will follow guidelines and protocols that will create a safe environment for all fairgoers.
Make plans to bring your family and friends and experience the fun at Tennessee’s Largest Outdoor Classroom! We’ll see YOU at the Fair!
