Honoring Our Hometown Heroes at this Year’s 2021 Fair

LEBANON, TENN. — The Volunteers of the Wilson County Fair (Wilson County Promotions) are proud to announce “Honoring Hometown Heroes” as the theme of the 2021 Wilson County Fair.

The now 10-day Fair will open on Thursday, August 12, at 5 p.m. and run through Saturday, August 21. The theme celebrates and pays tribute to the many heroes who have done so much this past year.Through the tornados that hit middle Tennessee in March and the pandemic that changed all of our lives this past year, we honor those who came to our rescue in so many ways through this unprecedented year.

As Tennessee’s Big County Fair and the largest Fair in Tennessee, the Fair’s focus remains family fun, entertainment and agriculture experiences for all our Fairgoers. Wilson County Promotions Volunteers submitted a proposal to add the Tennessee State Fair to our award winning Wilson County Fair. The Volunteers are exploring all opportunities to make more improvements to our Fairgrounds and for Wilson County. After much thought and discussion, it is much better to add the State Fair to the Wilson County Fair than for the State Fair to happen at a different time on the same fairgrounds or even take place in close proximity to our Fair.If approved, Wilson County Promotions will be producing and managing the Tennessee State Fair and the Wilson County Fair as one Fair at the same time.We will continue to focus on showcasing Wilson County. Competitions that have been limited to Wilson County will continue. There are no alcoholic beverages currently sold at the Wilson County Fair and no plans to ever do this. Our main focus is on a true family fun experience.

We realize this is a big endeavor and an exciting one for our Volunteers, our County, our State and especially our Fairgoers. Details are still being discussed.Wilson County Promotions Board of Directors and the Wilson County Ag Management Committee will need to approve details moving forward.

Wilson County Promotions Board President Randall Clemons says the agriculture commodity focus will be “Year of Beef.”Our Fair’s roots and existence remain as an agriculture fair. There are over 150 events that take place during the 10-day fair and volunteers are making plans to incorporate the theme in the many exhibits and competitions during the Fair.

Clemons says fair organizers are planning for this year to be a great Fair. There are lots of plans being made to make coming to the Fair a great place for Fair fun and where families can make memories to last a lifetime. We will be working with health officials and following guidelines and protocols to provide a safe environment for all fairgoers.

The 2021 Fair will again be presented by Mid-South Ford.

The volunteers invite everyone to bring their family and friends to the Fair. We’re working hard to make the largest Fair in the state of Tennessee the best one ever. We’ll see YOU at the Fair!
