Games and Competitions for Ages 4 thru Adult
Games of Skill and Games of Speed tailored to age levels using Lego® brand bricks will be ongoing from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Go to wilsoncountytnstatefair.net for a description and age brackets of activities. Bricks provided! No entry fee but participants must pay for entry into the fair. Ribbons awarded for each challenge!

Surprise Theme Build
1:00 p.m. - kids & youth
2:30 p.m. - adults
Participants will use the bricks provided to create a display that matches a surprise theme. One hour will be allowed for planning and building after the theme is revealed. Ribbons awarded in each age division.

THEME BUILT SCULPTURES

2023 Theme: "Let's Get Corny!"


Entries taken at East/West Bldg August 12, 2023 10:00-12:00 or by 12:00 on day of event. Preregistrations are encouraged but not required.

Build a UNIQUE structure using Lego brand bricks (no kits) that depicts an animal seen at the Fair. May be an Individual or Team Build. Teams are judged by the age of the oldest team member. No entry fee but limited to one sculpture per individual or team. Participants must pay for entry into the fair on day of event. Prizes will be awarded in each age division at 4:00p.m. Sculptures may be removed following prize ceremony. Age categories: 4 and under, 5-8, 9-12, 13-17, Adult

THEME BUILDING RULES

Registration

  • Each participant should pre-register their entry online or in person by August 13 to be guaranteed display space. Online registration is available at www.wilsoncountytnstatefair.com.
  • Entries not pre-registered will be accepted on the event date if space is available.
  • Entries must be displayed Saturday, August 26, 2023, by 12:00 p.m.
  • Bring entries to the East-West Building.
  • The entries will be on public display and supervised between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
  • The entries should remain on display until after the Awards Ceremony and must be removed by contestants by 8:00 pm.
  • Prizes are awarded in 5 age divisions:
  • Within each division there will be three winners: 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place.
  • Winners will receive an Award Ribbon plus a Brick Prize!
  • Contestants must leave the display area from 3:00 to 4:00 while the judging is in progress.
  • The Awards Ceremony will be held in the East-West Building at 5:00 p.m.
  • Note:Contestant MUST be present to win.

DATE & LOCATION

Prepare for traffic delays. Projects that do not arrive by 12:00 p.m. will not be allowed to compete but may be displayed as space allows.

Age 4 and Under, Age 5 to 8, Age 9 to 12, Age 13 to 17, and Adults

AWARDS CEREMONY

Rules

  • Use your own LEGO®, DUPLO®, plastic bricks.
  • Entries must be your own creation, not a LEGO® designed kit, project found online, in a magazine, etc.
  • Your creation must follow the "Let's Get Corny!" theme:
    Build something that you might see or do at the fair.
  • Your creation must be on a base no bigger than 10” x 10”. The base can be wood, cardboard, a standard 32 x 32 stud LEGO® baseplate, etc. and can be decorated to fit with your project. Your completed project may be no taller than 24” tall.
  • One entry per participant or team where applicable.
  • Team projects will be placed in the category of the oldest participant in the team. Please note that while all members of a team will receive an Award Ribbon, a team will compete for a single prize.
