Information for Competitors

Section 1:Horticulture

  • All entries must be entered Thursday, August 15, between 2:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. in the Expo Center.
  • No person may enter more than one entry in each lot except Class 32.
  • Competition is open to Wilson County residents, members of the Wilson County Rose Society and members of Wilson County Rose Society.
  • Placements will be made on the decision of the ARS Judges.
  • Each specimen consists of one bloom to a stem, less side blooms, unless the schedule states a spray which is 2 or more flowers on the same stem..
  • Premiums will be paid Sunday, August 25, at 1:00 p.m. and ribbons and awards should be picked up by 2:00 p.m.
  • All entries should be clean and properly prepared for judging on arrival although assistance will be available. Wedging with oasis or saran wrap is NOT allowed.
  • Glassware will be provided until stores are exhausted.

Section 2 - Arrangements

  • All entries must be entered Thursday, August 15 between 2:30 and 6:45 p.m.

  • Competition is open to Wilson County residents, members of the Wilson County Rose Society and members of the Nashville Rose Society.
  • Premiums will be paid Sunday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. and ribbons and awards should be picked up by 2:00 p.m.
  • Roses and foliage can be garden grown or purchased at a florist, roses must dominate.

Lot

1. Tradition table arrangement for a "celebration" of your choice. Staged on a table not to exceed 36 inches. Plates and cups allowed but no utensils.
2. Tall arrangement staged on pedestal for a "celebration"
3. Small arrangement not larger than 12 inches in any direction to "celebrate" an event.
