Time of Show: Showmanship Classes at 9:00 a.m. & Dairy Goat Show at 10:00 a.m.

Location: Small Animal Barn (Bldg.X) (see map below)



Please read, download and bring with you if possible the below waiver and drop off at the admission gate as you enter the grounds. Thank you.
A waiver is needed for each individual attending the Livestock Show and an adult needs to sign for a minor (under 18).

2020 Wilson County Fair Livestock Shows

COVID-19 Announcement

COVID-19 has changed the look and feel of livestock shows as we know it. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate unchartered territories to have this year’s Wilson County Fair Livestock Shows. Throughout the eleven-day event, please keep in mind our COVID-19 recommendations:

  • Any Person Showing Any Signs of Illness Should Stay Home:If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you refrain from attending the event.
  • Practice Social Distancing: Keep at least six feet or one heifer length between you and other exhibitors if possible. Please remain in groups smaller than 10 at all times.
  • Participants Should Not Congregate: At least six feet of distance must be maintained between people, including in the prep areas, at the gate and while in the show ring.
  • Wear Cloth Face Coverings: In settings where it is difficult to maintain at least 6 feet of distance between people. Note that children under age two should NOT wear cloth face coverings because of the danger of suffocation.
  • Wash Your Hands Often:Use soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Limit Unnecessary Contact:Avoid hugs, handshakes and touching your face if possible.
  • Cover Your Cough:Cough or sneeze into a tissue and throw it away immediately.

We would also like to make you aware of the precautionary measures taken by our volunteers and staff. These include:

  • Daily Temperature Checks and Symptom Monitoring
  • Social Distancing
  • Regular Sanitation of High-touch Surfaces

We encourage you to have your animals show ready as possible before the show.Livestock Trailers enter through Tennessee Blvd. Checkerboard Entrance.

RULES

  1. This show is sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association and their rules shall govern.
  2. The Sr. and Jr. Doe shows are sanctioned for the following breeds: Alpine, Lamancha, Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf, Saanen, Toggenburg, Recorded Grades, Oberhasli and Sable.
  3. Entries are due by August 10. Entry Fees - $12.00 per entry; Late Entry Fee - $20.00 if received after August 10. Pen fee - $3.00 per pen. Fees should be sent to Chad Boyce with checks made payable to Wilson County Promotions.
  4. Base date for computing age of animals is August 16.
  5. Original registration certificates required for animals six months or older. Under 6 months may be shown with stamped duplicate registration application form. These papers must be shown to the show secretary before judging. No copies, telegrams or telephone calls will be accepted in lieu of original registration certificates.
  6. All goats must have a current health certificate. Out of state animals - Negative TB and Brucellosis test within 150 days of show (NO TEST REQUIRED IF YOU COME FROM A FREE STATE) or originate from a certificate and accredited herd.
  7. Animals for open show must be in place by 8:00 a.m. and will be released immediately after the show.
  8. There will be no Pre-Show milk out.
  9. The show committee reserves the right to bar obviously sick or diseased animals from the grounds.
  10. The Wilson County Promotions board and members of the show committee will not be responsible for animals, personal property, accidents, and/or injury.
  11. All milk will be kept in covered containers at all time. Violators will be asked to leave the Fairgrounds.
  12. All milk will be disposed of in designated containers.
  13. Junior and Senior Doe Shows are sanctioned separately.
  14. Animals must meet requirements of the Scrapie Program.
  15. Classes will not be changed for any reason.
  16. The show order is subject to change to make the show run smoothly.
  • Livestock Trailers need to enter through TENNESSEE BOULEVARD Entrance.
  • All Livestock Exhibitors and Drivers of Vehicles transporting livestock will be admitted FREE.
  • An Exhibitor is defined as the Person Who Attends the Animal in the Show Ring.
