If you are in high school or a senior citizen we invite you to be there on the 21th to enjoy all that the Fair has to offer but at 7 the party breaks out in the Fiddlers Grove Pavilion and ballroom dancing including Swing, Jive, Fox Trot, Lindy Hop, Quick Step, Cha Cha, Latin and the Waltz will be happening. We are working to invite several of the areas professional dance clubs which will bring a bit of excitement to the affair including the Nashville Swing Dance Club and others. Please call your friends and make this the happening place in Wilson County on a Wednesday night. Please wear your 40’s, 50’s and 60’s style clothing so we know that you are serious lovers of the Big Band sound.”
David Diehl Co-Director adds that, “The Jazz Alliance is a non-profit 19 member community big band jazz ensemble based out of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and is a member of The Arts Alliance. Founded in 2007, the band is made up of businessmen, teachers, doctors, and other professionals, as well as professional musicians from Nashville, Mt. Juliet, Lebanon and surrounding communities who enjoy performing big band jazz music. We perform music made famous by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Billie Holiday, Chicago, Stevie Wonder and many others. The Jazz Alliance has classic big band instrumentation which includes five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, guitar, bass, piano, drums, male and female vocalists for a real Big Band sound that get your toes tapping and your feet moving.”
“Our music spans from the 1930's to the 1970's and beyond. We feature an eclectic repertory of instrumental and dance music which includes big band swing, bebop, Latin (including bossa nova, mambo and rumba), contemporary jazz, standards, as well as some rock n roll, fusion, funk and blues”, Mario Davidson Co-Director exclaims.
