Thunderstorm delays big giveaway drawing Tuesday night

Thunderstorms passing through put a damper on the fair Tuesday night, delaying the Great Giveaway vehicle drawing for 30 minutes. The ticket barrel was placed underneath the announcers’ booth at the Motosports Arena to protect the tickets from the rain, as 2017 Fairest of the Fair Anna Belle Gallaher commenced the drawing.

“Farmers, Boots and Country Roots” – 2014 Wilson County Fair Honors Farmers

Folks, we are about 1 month away from another great Wilson County Fair. If you have visited the James E. Ward Agricultural Center recently, it looks like everything is in high gear. New paint is being applied, a couple of new stages are being constructed, the flower beds and landscaping are looking great, new buildings in Fiddlers Grove being readied for dedication, and fair committees are getting ready for the many events and entries at the fair. Volunteers and fair staff are now in a full sprint for the finish line which takes place on Friday, August 15, opening day of the 2014 Wilson County Fair.
