Wilson County Fair Announces Theme for the 2017 Fair!
Here Comes the Fun!
Make your plans, because you do not want to miss all of the fun that is being planned August 18-26.
We appreciate the Middle Tennessee Ford Dealers for being our title sponsor and all they contribute to the success of the Wilson County Fair.
There are nine days full of family fun, carnival rides and entertainment.
The Fair chooses a different agriculture commodity each year to give the Fair an extra way to promote agriculture and educate the fair going public about the importance of agriculture and farming. This year we focus on the “Year of the Sunflower.” All of the Fair’s exhibits and activities are to showcase the best of Wilson County and to remind us who is responsible for supplying food and clothing in the stores that we provide our families every day.
We are excited to have the new Wilson County Expo Center this year to use for all the many pageants; God & Country Celebration; exhibits including, quilting, caning, baking, fine arts, photography, stained glass, school exhibits, and fruits & vegetables. We know everyone will want to see this wonderful addition and know they will enjoy the climate control and restroom facilities it provides.
We appreciate Bates Ford presenting our concert series again this year. The Oak Ridge Boys will perform in concert, Monday evening, August 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Jason Crabb will perform in concert Tuesday evening, August 22 at 7:30 p.m. Concerts are included with the price of admission to the Fair.
Once in a lifetime event will occur Monday, August 21 when the solar eclipse will take place at 1:28 p.m. 10,000 solar eclipse glasses will be provided at the admission gates as long as the supply lasts. The Fair will open gates at 10:00 a.m. with carnival rides operating, fair food and exhibits open. The carnival will be offering the “Best Seats in the House” for anyone that would like to ride the Ferris Wheel during the solar eclipse. Interested individuals must sign up with your mobile number to receive the winning call. Solar eclipse will start around 11:59 with the totality at 1:28. An MC will direct the activities and information about the eclipse, directing everyone when it will be safe to take off your glasses.
Great Give Away sponsors are being sought for tickets to be distributed at the sponsors place of business for a lucky winner to pick from one of seven choices of either a car, truck, or tractor on Tuesday evening, August 22. If you are interested in being a sponsor, please call 615-443-2626.
