Don't be a Couch Tater -- Come to the Fair!
Master Gardener Program PDF Print E-mail

Master GardenersThe Master Gardener program is sponsored through the University of Tennessee Extension.  It is composed of trained VOLUNTEERS and advisors.  The program provides the entire community with additional contact with the Extension on a real and personal basis.  Many community-oriented projects are staffed by the association.  The emphasis is on assisting and educating.

Currently, the organization assists with the Wilson County Fair, an award winning enterprise. Many of the flowerbeds and presentations are the direct result of Master Gardener involvement. In addition, the Master Gardeners of Wilson County also design, construct and staff their own exhibit at the fair, landscape Habitat for Humanity construction projects, and provide services to other community groups.

The Wilson County Master Gardeners meet on the first Tuesday of every month.  A training program for this extremely worthwhile organization is held annually with guest speakers who address many interesting topics.  Additional information concerning the program may be obtained by telephoning (615) 444-9584 or by writing to University of Tennessee Extension, 925 E. Baddour Parkway, Suite 100, Lebanon, Tennessee 37087, Attention: Master Gardener Program Supervisor. Interested individuals are asked to initiate contact quickly as classes are limited in size and are filled on a "first-come" basis.
