Rules and Regulations

  1. All birds must meet health regulations according to State requirements.  The chairman reserves the right to refuse any entry. Birds must be tested off-site.
  2. Entries will be received on Thursday, August 11, between noon and 8:00 p.m.  You can come in the main gate.  Judging will be Saturday, August 13.  There is a $1 entry fee per bird.
  3. Entries are to remain in place until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21 (must be picked up by 2:00 p.m.), unless prior arrangements are made with the chairman.
  4. The show is A.B.A. & A.P.A. sanctioned and the classes will be judged by their standards. "Premiums" will be paid to cock, hen, cockerel and pullet as follows:  1st - $4.00  •  2nd - $3.00  •  3rd - $2.00
  5. The Champions of the following will receive a 7x9 picture plaque:  Modern Game, Old English, Single Comb Clean Leg, Rose Comb Clean Leg, Any Other Comb Clean Leg, Featherleg, Bantam Duck, Large Fowl, Standard Duck, Goose, Turkey and Pigeon.  (Minimum of 10 in class to get Plaque.)
  6. Each Best of Breed and Reserve of Breed will receive a rosette.  Ribbons will be given for all entries.  Non-recognized breeds or varieties will compete for ribbons ONLY.
  7. The Champion Bantam, Large Fowl and Waterfowl will receive an 8x10 picture plaque plus $5.00.  (Only one plaque per winning entry/all awards listed.)
  8. The Super Grand Champion of the Show will receive a 9x12 picture plaque plus $10.00.  The plaques will be personalized during the week and ready to pick up with the birds on Sunday, August 21.
  9. Though every precaution will be taken, neither Wilson County Promotions, nor the individuals working the exhibit will be responsible for the loss of any bird or any injury.

ALL BIRDS MUST BE PRE-ENTERED.
AMERICAN BANTAM ASSOCIATION, P.O. Box 127, Augusta, NJ 07822 (201) 383-6944. SPECIAL MEET 5x7 Plaques to Champion and Reserve Champion Bantam, Pins for Champion and Reserve for all seven bantam divisions providing there are 25 birds competing.  Only ABA members are eligible to compete for the above awards. Dues are $10.00 per year / $25.00 for three years. New members receive a copy of the quarterly and the latest available copy of the Annual American Bantam Association Year Book which lists 900 advertisers and includes a complete breed and variety index. Winners of ABA awards are listed in the yearbook under Who's Who in Bantams.  Starred wins are earned by Champions and Reserve Champions in the seven bantam divisions when the number of birds competing is 100 or more.  Starred wins are also awarded to Best and Reserve of Breed and Variety when 100 or more birds are competing.  A single bird is eligible for only one award and can earn only one starred win. Awards are subject to change.
